Shoreline Sailmakers - Cruising Sails and Racing Sails

Our sails fall into four catagories:

INLAND LAKES Sails designed primarily for use on boats up to 28 feet in length. These are great value sails used for cruising and light racing. They are made with quality dacron weaves that will last for many years.

COASTAL CRUISING Sails are designed for recreational cruisers and club racers who look for a combination of durability and performance for boats up to 36 feet in length. The sails are built with a Crosscut design with a strong construction finish and, uses extremely densely woven High Modulus Dacron fabrics to ensure durability and shape holding.

OFFSHORE Sails are top of the line sails designed for blue water cruising or offshore racing for any size boats but, usually recommended for boats above 37 feet in length. The sails are manufactured to the highest construction and finish specification to provide a long useful life of trouble free performance. They are extremely strong and low in stretch due to choosing the highest quality and tightly woven Dacron available from the world’s leading cloth manufacturers.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CRUISING Sails are designed for performance-orientated sailors who want to participate in club races as well as cruising. For optimum performance and durability they are strongly constructed using TriRadial Cut. You can choose to make them in Warp Drive Polyester or Cruising Laminate.

SPINNAKERS are designed in either Full-Radial or Tri-Radial cut. The Radial shaped panels fan out from the three corners Head, Clew and Tack and run throughout the sail. The Tri-Radial layout has horizontal panels in the middle. The benefit of both constructions is that the stress, which is radiating from Head, Clew and Tack into the sail, is along the seams instead of across them. The result is a strong sail minimizing stretch and distortion.
